HOW TO MEASURE FOR A BLIND;
INSIDE A RECESS
Either give us the recess size of the window if the blind is to be fitted inside the recess.
Width should be exact wall to wall size at the narrowest point, ie. allowing for any tiles that start half way down the recess or uneven plastering.
Measure at the top, back of the recess and bottom just to make sure.
The drop is just the size from the top of the recess to about 1cm off the sill.
Warning. If your window opens inwards the bind may hinder this if you fit in this way. Also measure your recess width at the point you will be fitting the blind so that when it is let down it doesn't hit any handles etc.
Fitting outside the recess
Here we need the overall blind size from end-to-end and top-to-bottom.
This will be pin to pin on a roller blind the cloth being approx 2cms narrower than this on each side or, actual overall width of a wood or metal slat blind, the vanes being just slightly narrower than the headrail.
